Natalia Mallo
Natalia Mallo is a multi-artist and curator, born in Argentina and resident in Brazil since 1995. She has 20 years of experience in developing projects in the areas of music, performing arts and interdisciplinary practices, in the field of cultural diplomacy, she is a fellow of the Department of International Cultural Relations at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and a member of the Global South Arts Initiative. Since 2014 she works with international organizations developing collaborative projects seeking dialogue between art and society. She is co-curator of the collective Outburst Americas.
Throughout her career in music, she has recorded and produced more than a dozen albums and toured in Brazil and around the world. She has also written the soundtracks for numerous shows and audiovisual works, with emphasis on a long partnership with the director Cristiane Paoli Quito.
She is dance curator at MIS - Museu da Imagem e do Som since 2011, and was guest curator of special projects at Virada Cultural de São Paulo. She is artistic director of RISCO Festival, a series of multi-language events addressing artistic risk, which had two editions in São Paulo. Last year she took over the coordination of programming and communication of Cultura Inglesa Festival.
Among her recent artistic projects, highlights include the translation and direction of the play "The Gospel According to Jesus, Queen of Heaven", an emblematic work in the context of trans representation in the arts, and target of censorship.
