​Cristian Duarte em companhia/Z0NA is an initiative by choreographer Cristian Duarte in order to create, to produce, to disseminate, to co/move thought and to excite perception with dance alongside artists who enjoy, support and promote transit between the different knowledge areas, between languages, creating contexts for experimentation and training dance in the city of São Paulo. It has been a resident organism at Casa do Povo since 2013.

Choreographer Cristian Duarte (1973, São Paulo) is an artist from São Paulo who has been working professionally for over 20 years. His training includes Estúdio e Cia Nova Dança in São Paulo and graduation from P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts, Research and Training Studios) in Brussels. His artistic practice has been marked by the creation of contexts for experimentation and training in dance such as APT?, DESABA and LOTE/Z0NA in partnership with several artists from the city of São Paulo. Since 2013 he has been one of the resident artists at Casa do Povo in the Bom Retiro neighborhood - the cosmos of his choreographic action. He has been a invited professor and choreographer in important educational institutions such as UFRN (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte), UFBA ( Federal University of Bahia), DDSKS (Copenhagen), P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels), SICW – Seoul International Choreography Workshop (Seoul), DOCH/SKH – Stockholm University of the Arts, Arizona State University – ASU The Design School (Arizona/US). He has created choreographies for the Transitions Dance Company at the Laban Center (London) and for the Cullberg Ballet (Stockholm). His production has been recognized by the main dance awards in Brazil and went on international tours. He was one of the curators of the Artistic Actions of the 2019 Sesc Dance Biennale. Recipient of five Prêmios APCA, some of his works are: E nunca as minhas mãos estão vazias (2023), Despedançada (site specific/2021), < play : (Audiovisual/2021), O que realmente está acontecendo quando algo acontece? (2017), Ó (2016), Against the Current, Glow by the Stockholm Cullberg Ballet (2015), Biomashup (2014), Jamzz (2012), The Hot One Hundred Choreographers (2011) e Médelei – eu sou brasileiro (etc) e não existo nunca (2006).
